Rescue FIles from Internal Memory / Failed t. mount /efs topic

Hi,
a friend brought over a S3 to me, the problem is: it stops right after the "Samsung Galaxy" Boot Screen.
I can get into the Recovery (VOLUME UP, HOME + POWER), it is stated "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)".
I googled around about this problem, also on this board of course - as what i have read till now, i know that chances are bad; because there is no efs backup :/

My question is about the files laying on the internal memory + contacts ... there was no sync via google for contacts ... would there be any possibility to get files from the internal memory, or even the contacts? I know, chances are low, but i would appreciate any help :)
