[Q] Extract Internal Storage topic

SOCIALIZE IT ⇨

Hey everyone, I've a quick question I bet some hardware people here could answer.

So my friend's Samsung Galaxy S4's screen is totally shattered and broken. We don't know if the phone boots or not, but we want to recover anything possible from the internal storage (cause store service is useless as always). Is it possible to physically dismantle the phone to gain access to the internal storage? (if it's something like SD memory) And if so could I read it from with Ubuntu? (dunno what file system Android is, maybe EXT4, but Ubuntu can read nearly anything)

Or would we need to somehow interface with it should it still be bootable? If so, without the screen, there'd be no way to get past the lock screen so would I need to go into the bootloader and use adb to extract the files? I've done stuff sort of like this with my HTC phones, but I'm a total noob when it comes to Samsung devices and I have no idea how to even boot to the bootloader on them.

Note: the phone in question is a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 - LOCKED AND NOT ROOTED. I feel like this is going to be a deal-breaker but maybe someone out there has a solution.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
