Hey guys I have read and posted results in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...469413&page=14.

I was unable to use ODIN3 to achieve root on my device

Model SM-G730W8
A/V 4.4.2
Baseban G730W8VLUBNF2
KRNL 3.4.0-1795769
BUILD KOT49H.G730W8VLUBNF2

but I was able to use the method posted in the above link and do have root access now..

I am not a dev but have some familiarity with linux - I would like to know which file or files need to be modified to allow ODIN3 to sink up with the device while in upload mode - As it stands or as I understand it when I gain access to upload mode and recovery menu from boot there is an adp option but ODIN will not sink or open a port to load the root file - ODIN will open a port during normal phone state.

I do have root and can modify files but am unclear of which files are restricting upload mode on this phone with 4.4.2 A/V.

My concern is with the root access the link in the above thread was able to achieve with out upload mode and I was thinking there must be a way to mod the restricting files to allow the ODIN3 ROOT METHOD
