[Q] A way to manually select a network without searching for available networks? topic
I happen to cross the US-Mexico border nearly every day, therefore, I have to go from T-Mobile to the Mexican company Movistar and vice versa. I have to manually select the network I need several times per day.
It is a PAIN to have to follow these steps every day to manually select a network: Apps > Settings > More networks > Mobile Netwoks > Network Operators > Default setup > Manual, then wait 40+ secs to get the list or available carriers and then select the one I need.
The default automatic setting is terrible (Apps > Settings > More networks > Mobile Netwoks > Network Operators > Default setup > Automatic) because it keeps switching me from T-Mobile to Movistar at random times. It even switches me to Movistar being in the US (causing roaming charges) and it switches me to T-Mobile when I am in Mexico (with 0 signal bars, making the phone useless).
Is there a way to have the T-Mobile and Movistar network profiles saved so that I can manually register into the network whenever I want vs having to follow all of these steps AND have to wait 40+ seconds everytime?
Is there a custom radio, custom rom, or app that could help? thanks
