Hi Experts,

I have a new-to-me E980. I am not a stranger to flashing. However, I am confused by the various posts as to what is best at this present time. My goal is to have a current recovery and some sort of stable Cyanogen based rom that has the Privacy Tool built-in so I can block certain apps from being able to read text messages, etc.

Currently I have rooted the phone and used FreeGee to install TWRP 2.6.3.3

Questions:

1a - Is this version of TWRP 2.6.3.3 lokified? Do I still need to be concerned about that?
1b - I see there is another version of twrp available in the 2.8 range. Do I need to upgrade to that one?
2 - Do I still need to use madmack's modem for deep sleep? I see some comments saying it doesn't matter now.
3 - I see there are some newer roms out there even base don Lollipop. I am looking for one that is stable, and has good battery life. I do not care if it is jelly bean, kitkat, or lollipop based. (This is for my wife. I can't keep flashing it all the time. She will kill me. :) )
