Lets discuss The G6's Emergency SOS mode. topic
So, first a little background.
Its late at night, i had just purchased my phone earlier in the day and i was looking around the settings and found the Send Emergency SOS mode the S6 has.
What it does is, it sends your location to your emergency contacts, in case you find yourself kidnapped by Jason Statham. It also sends an audio recording and front and rear camera pictures.
How it works. When you find yourself in an emergency situation you click the power button three times and the phone automatically messages your predetermined contacts as to where you are.
the biggest problem with this is the power button feels just like the lower volume button. so if your not looking at your phone and you try to quickly adjust your phones volume you hit the power button three times and bam. everyone you know thinks you are in trouble. there is no option to cancel this by the way.
i ended up sending two sets of emergency SOS notifications in the span of 24 hours.
its a cool idea and could potentially save lives but imho, it needs some re-tooling.
