Recovering Nexus Fanboy topic
I've recently got myself an unlocked N910F note 4 after a recent Nexus fetish and I must say I've never been happier. I got into Nexus phones with the N4 which was a pretty good phone, then I got an N5 which was brilliant apart from a mic issue I had on 2 different N5's which I kinda put up with in the end because I was a fanboy and Nexus ruled at the time. Then I got an N6 and the camera went funny in the 3rd week so I took it back and my second one lasted 3 months before the battery started expanding and the back was peeling off. I had been treating it like glass in case I had the camera issue again and didn't want to do anything with it in case it broke which really made it pointless. Plus the battery life was awful and I don't think it could be totally blamed on lollipop because all my Nexus devices have been the same before and after their updates.
I was always put off by the plastic feel of early Samsung devices and after having a Note 2 10.1 which seemed overkill on features and barely saw updates I swore I'd never own anything Samsung related again, especially seeing as I dislike touchwiz and bloatware. How wrong was I? I've now got a phone with an awesome camera for once and a battery that gets me through a full day with more than the couple of hours screen on time I'm used to.
My plan was to get an S6 when it came out in the UK but, I think I'm going to stick with this one for a bit as it's been like an upgrade to what I've been used to. The next Nexus will need to be pretty impressive before I consider one again regardless of who makes this years version(s).
I thought speedy updates were more important than anything but, nothing changes that much on most occasions and these days it's Google Play Services that has been bringing in the good stuff. Glad I've had a wake up call.
