[Q] I'm over lollipop and want to rollback topic

Just like the title says. I can't stand having to charge my phone a couple of times during the day. The battery life absolutely sucks with the new lollipop upgrade. I have:

Given it several charge cycles.
Did a factory reset
Greenified everything I could
Wakelocks do not seem to be a problem.

I would like to roll back to kitkat. Is it safe to just kdz back with one of the standard ways? I have a 32gb version of the VS980. I have an old KDZ file but want to see what the latest one is for my phone. I'd appreciate someone point me in the right direction.

..since sadly, I'm really not impressed with Lollipop. Battery life seems worse, the supposedly better interface feels far inferior to me and various other small little things that made me realise I really, really liked 4.4.4.

So I have some questions:

1) What's the process to follow for this? I've seen some links I *think* are right, but can't be sure. (Note that I'm considering rooting and would want to keep my DRM keys etc., if I can).
2) I assume the phone will be wiped as this won't be like upgrading was to Lollipop. So I'd have to backup all my data (although I know this is best practice anyway).
3) Is there a stock version of 4.4.4 as opposed to Sony's original FW that I could use?
4) Or potentially even CM11?
5) If not, is there some way I could get the quick pin unlock feature I used to love in CM on my Xperia Z?

So my questions are as follows:
1- how can i SIM unlock my US Sprint SGS4? If possible can you provide a step by step or link to a guide?
2- which 1 must be done 1st, unlocking or rooting, or it doesnt matter?
3- is it possible and how can i root my phone in a safe way? is there a guide to return back to stock?
4- what or which is the best and safest/stable custom recovery?

If you guys need more info about the phone feel free to ask, i will reply as soon as i see the question. Cause i have been looking all over the net for this info/guide but could find anything conclusive cause it all point to a firmware my phone doesnt have so i dont know what to do and theres an OS update pending that i dont want to install yet which i think is 4.4.4 at the least.

My unrooted HTC Desire 816 has just received a rather prominent message sayind "System Update Available. Tap to download the system update." I would like to know what sort of system update it is--is it Lollipop (I read somewhere that this phone wouldn't get Lollipop, and to be honest I was relieved)? Is it an HTC update? How do I know whether I want it? I've heard so many unsatisfactory reports about Lollipop that I have no wish to have it. I've also read some complaints on Play Store about some kind of HTC update. Is there a way to find out what the update is, and, more important, is there a way to refuse it? I just wish I knew more about it and whether I wanted it or not. Right now, there's a big banner across my phone's home screen that gets in the way of my accessing some things not just on the home screen but in play store and other places as well. I've included a link to a screenshot of the top part of my phone's home screen, showing the update announcement that I can't get rid of:

I'm pretty much a newbie with this phone, and I don't want to root it, nor do I want some possibly problematic update to screw it up. It's currently on KitKat 4.4.2, and I'm quite content with that for now. Does anyone know more about what this update is and how I can get rid of the announcement? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm wanting to put 4.4 or what ever is latest stable on my HD+. I have a Mac so the win disk image tool won't do me any good.
Which thread should I look at? There are so many release and threads. I want to use the SD card for the new OS. Not to blow away my current Nook OS.

I tried both RUUs (ATT 7.23.502.1 did not work & HTC International 7.17.1540.7 did not work) on the HTC site and it didnt work the wizard said model error so am at a loss to which one it could be. Any help to locate the appropriate ROM for my phone please?

i have here an old HDX7 with stock ROM 13.3.1.0 and Safestrap 3.70 - i want to upgrade to a new ROM (something like this) but i don't know what the correct steps are to achieve that.

I'm sure i need to upgrade the stock firmware first (to 13.3.2.4 as in this tutorial) but i'm not sure how the procedure is affected by having Safestrap 3.70 already on the device?! :confused:

[Q] Stock Rom, Custom Recovery. Want OTA updates topic

Firstly, I would like to mention that I have been searching these forums for a few days and have found many threads that cover some of my questions. I am not savvy with all of this rooting and ROMs. There are so many versions of everything for the same HTC One M7, I don't know if I fit those answers or not.

The phone has been rooted and TWRP was installed. That is all that has been done to it according to my little research.

My goal is to get OTA updates. There is one that is popping up now but will not install. I think due to the lack of stock recovery.

I have no intentions of selling or sending off for warranty issues. (That question was asked in a similar thread)

If I can avoid custom ROMs and just have the phone be "normal" that would be great. If I can't, that's okay too.

Well. May not be rooted. I just left recovery and it gave the option to root and install superuser. Also, in the bootloader there is an option for "FACTORY RESET". Though I am not doing anything until I hear from you guys. I know it was rooted at one point. May have recovered to before the root.

Also its a Developer Edition. I saw there was some confusion about that on a different thread.

Who else want the HTC M9+ to come to the States? topic

First of all, sorry if I am putting this in the wrong section.
Like many, I was disappointed by the HTC One M9's release, especially after seeing some of the super cool, and fake, leaks of what the M9 could have been. Recently, HTC released the M9+ in China and said it wouldn't be coming to North America or Europe. http://blog.htc.com/2015/04/introduc...c-one-m9-plus/ Does anyone else see that and think, "Dayuummm, I need to get one of those."? Now that my M7 has kicked the bucket and I'm using an old Droid 3, I REALLY want an M9+. I was curious if it is just me that thinks this, or the general public wants this over the M9.

So I'm planning to root and flash a custom lollipop ROM on LG G3 (F400s and build number 10t). I've rooted and installed custom ROMs in a couple of devices before, but apparently there's a number of versions of this device. So my question is, does the process of rooting/installation of custom ROMs vary from one version to another or is the same for all versions? I've seen some tutorials for the D855 version, all I want to know is can I go through the same steps for the F400S version. Is ChupaChups ROM worth trying? Also, do I have to download a separate gapps if I plan to flash the ChupaChups ROM? Pardon the noobness fellas.

Verizon m8 lollipop s-off stock just want wifi topic

I really have no big need for root besides being able to use WiFi tethering. I had rooted my phone before but went back to stock and got OTA Lollipop 5.01 but now foxfi is broken and really miss the capability. Not willing to pay Verizon for bandwidth I already paid for. I booted to recovery and it says I have s-off.
My question is: what is the simplest way to get the root. I really am not into spending time with daily builds etc. Just want my WiFi!

[Q] Help Returning Vodafone M7 Back To Stock (Just want to ensure I'm right) topic

Hi there,

Due to the battery life now being absolutely dreadful (and of course the purple camera issue), I intend to return my phone to stock so I can take it to Vodafone.

It currently has Android Revolution HD 91.1 on it. The bootloader says tampered, unlocked, S-On and my H-boot is 1.54.

I've researched what I will need to do and I'm fairly confident, but just wanted to check before I did in case anything goes wrong.

I know I need to get S-Off in order to get the unlocked text back to locked instead of relocked. Since I have h-boot 1.54, I plan to use the Rumrunner tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2488772

From there I plan to reset it back to the stock Vodafone firmware. I looked in the ROM collection: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2428276 and there doesn't seem to be an appropriate RUU for my device. However there is a stock ROM with stock recovery; http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_res...-24-161-1-zip/

So my plan is as follows: gain S-Off using rumrunner, flash that stock ROM and recovery through TWRP, this should remove the tampered flag (though if it doesn't I will use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2477792) and leave me with only S-Off and unlocked. I will then relock using fastboot oem lock and then turn S-On using fastboot oem writesecureflag 3

I'm fairly certain that will be everything. Am I missing any steps or will this work as I intend?

Has any one found a way to revert back to the GPS button instead of the new location button? I do not see the need to have my gps on to use location features of my weather app and others.
This has annoyed me for quit a while. Also any way to make my battery green again.
