[Q] Nexus 6 camera in a Nexus 5? topic

Hi all, this is my first forum post (unless I posted one ages ago)

TL;DR: I want to mod a Nexus 6 camera into a Nexus 5 and am curious what this requires on a software level.

I noticed some people have taken their nexus 5 and modded a LG G2 battery into it, I plan to do this and make the first step by step video using the method this guy used

I also found a thread where somebody put a LG G2 camera into their Nexus 5 and it didn't work on a software level. In that same thread somebody mentioned that LG doesn't release the info needed to port a camera driver, so this got me thinking.. Maybe a Oneplus One camera, although parts for that phone are tricky to find but a nexus 6 camera (same sensor as Oneplus One but it has OIS) may just fit and off of my understanding, Google releases all of the information needed to port a driver over.

I don't know much about the stuff in the background that lets Android work, although I feel like this would be possible through a .zip that would be flashed with franco kernel updates.

Could anybody enlighten me on this? I would love to pull something like this off because I love my nexus 5 and... why not?? If you have read this far, thank you! I look forward to your replies :D
