[Q] Another bricked s3 thread (SGH-T999N) topic
I have not managed to find a solution to my broken phone either on the Internet, or in the threads of this forum. So here is a last ditch effort.
The context is: having been sprayed by water, the touch function on my phone stopped working. A friend told me it was just to do a factory reset to get it to work again, and as I didn't have any special data I wanted to save, I did so.
The phone now can't get past the "Metro PCS" visual. I can get it into recovery and download, but that's about it.
The computer does not recognize the phone, even when switching between cables and usb ports (though it does recognize my backup galaxy s3) so I'm unable to use ODIN.
I never installed CWM or anything similar, so those boot options are unavailable to me.
The phone war rooted before I did anything; I do not know if that has anything to do with it.
On the android system recovery screen I get-
E: failed to mount / data (invalid argument)
can't mount '/data'(invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
E: can't mount /data/log/recovery_log.txt
- under the usual options, if that helps.
So; without odin, without CWM and with ordinary recovery not working - is there any way to restore my phone? Is it possible to install a stock rom through the external sd-card, or does it exist some other elusive way.
Or should I just cry over my phone and be more careful next time.
Thankful for answers/suggestions!
