Google account not syncing topic

Hi guys, my google account is not automatically syncing even though I have it checked to do so. Will sync if I do it manually, but I need to receive my emails on the fly.

I checked my hosts file under system/etc and it is missing, could it have anything to do with it? If you can pls upload your hosts file from there so I can check if it solves my problem.
