Why I picked the S6 over the M9 topic
Let me start out by saying, I wanted the M9 to be the phone I wanted it to be, sooo bad. I have had a M7 Dev Edition since launch day, used it primarily on AT&T. I have now switch to T-Mobile and the M7 does not have all of the required bands to be fully compatible, so it was time to upgrade for me.
I bought the M9 early, directly from HTC and got the dev edition. It has full support for T-Mobiles bands and has the upgrades I have been needing ( Faster, microsd NO BLOAT ).
I still could not help read all the hype over the S6, so I bought one of those as well, just a regular S6, IDK why, but I was not a fan of the edge look.
I have both now for weeks as T-Mobile was selling them ahead of everyone else.
From testing both as daily drivers I have concluded the S6 is the best route for me, the software combined with Samsung's own processor is flawless, nearly 0 lag, even with the bloat I found myself liking the S6 more and more.
What it came down to in the end was a few things;
1. Signal - There would be places as I was driving I would have LTE on the S6, and the M9 would only get Edge. Not even H+. It seems to me like the antenna on the S6 is better, so many places the S6 would get signal where the M9 wouldn't. Places as I was driving, where the M9 had an "X" ( No Signal ), the S6 showed 2 bars of H+.
2. Camera - Yes the camera CAN produce good pictures, but you have to be standing still and have the the steadiest of hands, I went to a concert and zoomed all the way in with the M9 and I could see the screen shaking from my hand shaking, due to its lacks of OIS. Tried the same thing on the S6 and it was steady as could be, no shaking, perfect picture. I have a big enough hand I use both phones with one hand, if you are a person who uses both hands, maybe pictures won't be that bad for you.
3. Wireless charging - No more ports breaking, lol. With how cheap the technology is, I don't use the wall charger ever. I found a few QI chargers at Radio Shack when they were going out of business for 5 bucks a peice. Get to work, place it on the pad and don't worry about it.
Trust me, I kept trying to talk myself out of the S6 for my sheer love of HTC and the design and feel, but overall daily use the S6 outshines it. I hope next year they bring their game back, as I heard right after the M9 launched they re-organized a bunch of staff.
What I will miss, the front facing speakers, Samsung should know how much sound is when speakers are facing you, but none the less, tis one feature I will miss on the M9
This is just my opinion, and the decision was not easy, but day to day the S6 won me over.
