I've looked around the forums here and can't seem to find a definitive way to stop the OTA updates on the 2012 Google Nexus 7.

This is my mother's tablet, and she loves it, but she get's a little button pushy, and ended up installing 5.0 and 5.1... needless to say, now she hates it.

I was able to get 4.4.4 re-flashed with the Nexus Root Toolkit. Her tablet is now "Stock" 4.4.4, and not rooted. And as soon as I installed it, not but an hour later, it started popping up notifications of asking her to update to 5.1. And because she's button happy, she did just that, and then said some crap like "You just told me that I didn't have to update, and now I have to."

Mother logic.

Anyway, after a re-flash for the second time (Nexus Root Toolkit is the best BTW, WugFresh is my hero +1) I would like to disable that crap, so she can use her tablet and not get pop-up notifications all the flippin' time where she MIGHT hit Yes and not mean to.
