Hello After many attempts with other threads many people cant get sim unlock the M8 with the new Lollipop update
using sim unlock helper and terminal emulator on lollipop doesnt show the secret menu (API) even with the OMADM flashed
finally i got sim unlocked my HK M8 with android 5.0
you need to Unlock Bootloader / install recovery / make a Backup (if something gets wrong ;) )

1- download and install via recovery / android 4.4.2 Rom (i used ViperOneM8 1.5.0) and the HtcOMADM_SPCS.zip
2- download HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk / HtcOMADM_SPCS.zip and place them on your storage/SD
3- after the ROM installation reboot in recovery, MOUNT SYSTEM and go to File manager / system / app
there is a folder named HtcOMADM_SPCS open and delete the HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk
4- in RECOVERY FILE MANAGER select the / HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk that you've downloaded / copy the file and place it on / system /app/HtcOMADM_SPCS folder replacing the apk you've deleted
5- on SYSTEM/APP there is another HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk without a folder delete and replace with the one you've downloaded
6- Reboot system and open CMD/TERMINAL EMULATOR , then type am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.Test.MainActivity
Select API, scroll down and select sim unlock, wait a few seconds and then restart the phone with your non sprint sim card it will works 100%
7- OPTIONAL restore your backup or flash another ROM

this method doesnt work for domestic (usa) GSM
tested on 2 m8's with lollipop and works with 3 Different Mexican GSM companies
