Screen backlit while asleep topic

Hi there.

My wife has a Z1 compact and when she has the option "Adapt to Lighting Conditions" ticked under the brightness setting, when the phone is asleep, the left half of the screen is still backit?!?!? When you untick this box and adjust the brightness normally the dispay goes completely dark when asleep.

Was wondering if anyone else had this issue? Stock 4.4.x from Sony
