Rooting the Sony Xperia and installing Xposed installer, my nightmare and you. topic
Hey guys so I had a REALLY ****ING hard time rooting my Sony Xperia Z3 phone without breaking BL and then installing Xposed was also a nightmare because the system wouldn't go writable. So I thought I'd document my experience for others below and what I did to over come after much google searching.
It begins: The flash
So flashing the phone was a nightmare and it will be for you to if you use Windows 8. I followed the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/g...stall-t3017056 to downgrade my kernel to a rootable version of Android KitKat. However I couldn't get the flash tool to see the phone. To overcome this I had to install the flash tool drivers (Which are in the flash tool folder) installing flash tool drivers and Sony Xperia Z3 drivers in the list. To over come this you will need to disable driver signature verification or the install will fail. Guide on doing that here: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-...igned-drivers/
Once you've done that you can install the root in the original guide no problem. Installing Xposed Framework is another matter because you will probably find that you receive an error regarding unable to write to system or mount it as readable. To fix this some suggested downloading ES File Explorer and mounting the system there. This didn't work for me either because it just came up with an error after popping up SuperSU for permission. So to fix this I searched for "Mount system ro/rw" in the Google play store and it's very easy just one click on RW and you're done! go back to Xposed and you'll find that you'll be able to install the framework in system. I thought I'd write this because all of this information seems scattered across the internet and hopefully it will help someone else and save them a day and a half of headache. Good Luck!
