Repair Bricked Lumia 5xx topic

SOCIALIZE IT ⇨

The reason i made this tutorial is because the app that Microsoft provided to rollback form W10 TP to WP 8.1 is bricking lower end devices. What happends is that Windows Phone Recovery Tool tries to push packages of 2 Mb, and the devices can't handle so much information at a time. Because of that the firmware gets corrupted, and makes the device unusable.
You can also use this tutorial if you only want to unbrand your device.
I own 2 Lumias 520, Lumia 920 and Lumia 830. Lucky for me, none of my devices died during update/rollback. But if this happened to you, this should work.
This tutorial does not work for Lumia 830.

b. Install
1. Install Nokia Care Suite from provided link (don't run it yet)
2. Install Data Package Manager -//- (still, don't run anything)
3. Copy the file provided in link 3 in the following locations:
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Data Package Manager\bin
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Multi Software Updater 5
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5

c. Recover
1. Run Nokia Care Suite and go to Data Package Manager

2. A login prompt will show up, press "Work Offline", then press "OK"

3. Data Package Manager will show up. Now go to "File" and choose "Work Online". You will again be prompted to login, and this time press "OK"

4. Now you should be able to input data in the required boxes. You now have to download your phone's firmware. Here you have to know your manufacturer name (ex. RM-914 = Lumia 520, RM-984 = Lumia 830, etc.), and a specific product code matching your device. When you get all that, press "search", and if the info you entered is correct a package will be available to download. Press the "play" button to start downloading. It will take some time depending on your connection speed.
P.S If you can't find product codes on Google, then this tutorial is too much for you.

5. Once the download completes, close Data Package Manager and go back to Nokia Care Suite's main screen, and this time select "Product Support Tool For Store". When prompted to sign in press "work offline"

6. In "Product Support Tool For Store" press "file" then choose "Open Product". In filter box you can either input your manufacturer name or device name. Press "open".

7. Now go to "Programming" and select "Recovery". A list of downloaded packages will show up. Select the Firmware you want to install and press "Start"

8. After checking the integrity of the package, it will ask to connect your phone.
Now it's time to bring the brick. Make sure the battery is at least 15% charged. While the device is turned off, simultaneously press "Volume Down + Power" with one hand, and with the other connect the usb cable. Release the buttons when the device vibrates, then quickly press retry on Recovery prompt.
