[Q]Sony PC Companion Firmware Update topic

Hi,

What's the identification used by Sony's PC Companion to know if there's an update for your region ?
Is it the region specified in build.prop ?
Which update do you receive ? The one specified for your region ?

I was on Moonwalker ROM, with US as specified region in build.prop. No update for it.
Then flashed eXistenZ where I changed region to FR (France). Then update center in ROM had an update for me, lollipop .690 firmware. This is confirmed by PC Companion, and I downloaded the firmware (without install).
Then back to MW (US region), no more firmware update.

So, is the downloaded firmware the french one ?
