[Q] Why is Moto X (2013) screen more vibrant than S6? topic
I just purchased an S6 and compared the screen to my old-ass Moto X (2013). I viewed the exact same high-resolution photographs on both devices, and consistently saw that the Moto X has what I can only describe as a more colorful, vibrant, rich, and high-contrast display. I tried switching the S6 through each of the 4 default color settings, but none came close to matching the Moto X, which has an 316 ppi AMOLED display.
I'm no photographer, so I don't know which display is more true-to-life. When I looked at photos of people, the S6 seemed like it dulled the subject's skin-tone. But, the Moto X seemed to accentuate the skin-tone to slightly unrealistic levels, as well.
I'm concerned the S6 I purchased has one of the "washed out" screens people have been talking about. Hopefully, I can take it into a store and compare it against a demo unit.
