I never was able to figure out how to root this device, it just never worked despite following instructions step by step. A few questions.

I am currently happily using a phone that has 4.1.2 where I can use my free hotspot with my unlimited data plan. Whatever the rooting attempts did, it never allowed my phone to update and block my free hotspot. It shows custom and it shows phone altered, but when I try to use root apps I get a message saying "You're not rooted!".

I think the problem always was the "locked bootloader"? Is there a way to simple has this done? The ONLY reason I'd like to attempt to root is to update the camera to the slow motion version of the NOTE. Will I be able to keep 4.1.2 without my phone trying to update the software if I finally get this figured out? Are there apps that allow free hotspot with the new Samsung S6 if something goes wrong during this?

Just tonight I tried to use this method http://blog.flexispy.com/how-to-root...y-s3-sch-i535/ but I went through the process and kept posting messages like "access denied", "failed", etc....then after process was done, it said I was rooted....but of course I'm not.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
