POST TITLE (forgot to write one back in after my token expired and I reloaded the page lol): Can't update hboot, can only install TWRP 2.7.0.2, HELP
Hello.
I've been using AOKP since I got the M8. Always had a problem with music stopping after a few seconds of playback after a seemingly random number of songs. I am required to hold the volume button down to restart (or press the back button on the lockscreen) the song. It could happen several songs in a row or play several with no interruption. It's finally prompted me to want to start using cyanogenmod. I've used it in the past on another phone and never had the problem...
Anyway, my problem started when I tried to install the latest cyanogenmod nightly in TWRP. It wouldn't work, so I assumed I would just need to install the latest TWRP. Tried updating but with no luck. It doesn't seem I can install any version of TWRP but 2.7.0.2 through the HTC One M8 toolkit. Found out it was probably because my hboot is still 3.16. I can't figure out how to update this. I'm S-ON, so I tried downloading SunShine but it did not work. I understand that I can't use an RUU with S-ON unless it's for the exact state (sorry for lack of a better word) my phone is in. When I am in bootloader mode the "OS-" line is blank...
So I tried several random RUUs, hoping they would work. I found them via this xda thread. I used the rom.zips from all the .exes and tried all the .zips in that thread with the HTC One M8 toolkit. Nothing works.
I still don't really grasp what I'm doing, even though it has taken me several hours to get this far. What should I do?
