[Q] Recommend me a good custom rom to put on my Verizon G2 topic

I have had my Verizon G2 for about a year and I have just been using the Verizon updates since then and no huge issues that made life miserable. But I just got the OTA update to 5.0.2 and my battery life is awful. I have done a factory reset to it, and it is still bad.
So I have decided that I'm just going to root and get a custom rom (I have done this with Bugless Beast the Motorola Droid in 2010 or so, so I am not totally unfamiliar with the process, just out of the loop).
My big this is battery life and stability. I would like to have some of the cool cutting edge features, so totally vanilla may not be the thing for me. I had rather the rom be based of of Lollipop, but if there is a much better one based off of KitKat, especially with battery life and stability, then that is more than ok with me.
So if anyone could recommend me a rom (or a few) that I could look into to get an idea of where I would want to go, that would be great! I just don't quite know where to start at the moment.
