[Q] Peculiar situation topic

Hi guys,

I hope somebody can help me out. I have a G2 on stock 4.4.3 kitkat D80020y. I was rooted with stumproot and was on stock recovery as well. Then I heard the lollipop OTA coming out and in trying to prepare for it I "unrooted" the phone by choosing permanent unroot in Supersu app. Following that when I checked for OTA and it wasn't showing up, I realised it won't show up as I was on T mobile.

So, I thought that's easy, let me just root again with stump root and manually install it. But the problem is Stumproot us now unable to root my phone!

What's the easiest thing to do from here? Should I just borrow an AT&T Sim from a friend and try updating it that way? Will that cause any problems? Or should I try rooting my phone by another method and do the manual method then?

Sorry for the long post
