[Q] nexus 7 streaming issue topic

I have a stock nexus7 purchased 13 months ago. Recently got an xplornet sattelite internet connection (live in the sticks). If I stream with my nexus it brings the Hughesnet modem to its knees. I can stream with many other devices but the nexus locks up the modem after about 10 minutes. I'm using a dlink router, the Linksys router I tried made no difference. I spent far too long on the phone with xplornet. They don't know what's going on. When the modem goes down I can no longer log into it using IP addresses on my network. The modem is an HS9000.

Probably a long shot but has anyone ever had or heard of this issue?
