[Q] Issues with TAB S: Micro SD card stuck in slot, auto-brightness , & bronze tint topic
Hi all,
I have bought a Samsung Tab S 8.4 (SM-T700) a week ago and I am having three main problems that I hope I can get some help/suggestions on how to deal with them.
Let me start by saying that Samsung Service in the UK is completely worthless!!! While on vacation in Greece I bought the tablet from an online retailer (on the 2nd of April 2015). Yesterday, I bought and inserted in the Micro SD card slot a Samsung Micro SD card which went in fine and can be recognised by my tablet (i.e., has been mounted properly). Unfortunately though, the card now does not come out (i.e., the spring mechanism does not seem to work). Following a call to Samsung's Head Office (03307267864), I was told to take my tablet to Oxford Street since it is under warranty so that they can take the card out. However, when I went to the store they eventually told me that the engineer could not tell whether it was my fault that the card was stuck and they would charge me 170 pounds just to check the slot!!! That is I was told that although I inserted the card correctly(!), although the card is the correct card that I needed to use(!), that it might be my fault that in a tab that I have bought only 1 week ago the spring mechanism doesn't work! Their next suggestion was that I sent the tablet back to the retailer in Greece (although I live in London!) and ask for a replacement unit. I have already written a complaint letter to them but in the meantime I am hoping that someone may have a helpful idea of how can I remove the micro SD card (as you will know the slot is too thin for any tweezers).
Also, I am experiencing an issue with my auto-brightness. Mainly when I use the tablet in a dark lit room the screen becomes very dim (almost unreadable) instead of becoming brighter. Can others please tell me whether this is an issue that they also experience or whether this is only my tablet? (I have read some other posts but I am still not clear about whether this happens to some devices or on all Tabs on the S series).
Finally, I have noticed that there is a yellow tint on my screen (actually when the tab is turned off the screen has almost a matching colour to the bezel). I think that this might be normal but I want to double check this with other users. I am asking about this because when I look at the screen directly images appear more yellowish than normal (i.e., compared to my Samsung S4 phone and my Nexus 7 tablet). This is actually very disappointing because one of the reasons that I had bought this tablet was the raving reviews about its screen.
Any help/suggestions are highly welcomed! :)
