[Q] How to splice roms? topic

SOCIALIZE IT ⇨

Hi,

I'm in the process of creating my first android ROM, and am trying to splice features from one rom onto AOSPA which I am using as my base.
How do you do this? I presume it involves downloading the repos and editing build instructions, I'm not sure how. Also, in the meantime, how do I add packages contained in Zip files to my ROM?

Yes, I know I'm a complete noob, all I know is repo, a few linux commands, and how to build what is already there.

In a couple of months, I will hopefully release a wonderful stable ROM for the OnePlus One!

Thanks so much for your help!

P.S. As a bit of a sneak peek, here are some of the features I am adding:

• Viper4Android Mod (For all the audiophiles)
• ExtremeBeatz Mod (Works with Viper by adding some profiles and audio drivers for better speaker and headphone performance)
• CameraNext Mod (Original OPO camera with more features)
• XPLiX Graphics Mod (Includes Ad-Blocker, Internet Speed Booster and Ram Modifications)
• Music VisualizerView (Graphic Equalizer to Notification panel)
• Nitro X Spark Ultimate Mod (Smoooth nitro fast performance)
• init.D, Busybox and Chanfire's SuperSU pre-installed (These are more requirements for the build than they are for you)
• Xposed (For sweet extra features)

Based on AOSPA Lollipop 5.0.3
