[Q] Clearing AndroRAT or Adwind from Android 4.x device topic

Hi all:
My phone, which runs Android 4.0.4 got infected with a Remote Access Trojan ( I suspect either AndroRAT or Adwind), and I've tried resetting the device to factory settings, and it still seems to linger. Currently, there is no Software update as it is quite an old phone (Samsung Galaxy Discover). Any insight as to how this can be done?
