[Q] Backup data topic

Hi! I wanna upgrade to cyanagen mod but my device is not on the supported device list. And i dont wanna brick my device. I want to back up but i cant figure out how to use any backup/recovery programs at all! (Yes i have tried Titanium backup. didnt understand it) What i want is that if i dont like my current ROM or i get stuck in a boot loop or a virus etc. I can restore my device to a previous stand point with everything intact so i dont make the same mistake again. Yes i have tried CWM and TWRP but i just get .IMG files and idk what to do with them. I want a program that will give me a step by step guide on how to back up my data and how to restore. no .IMG files please unless you can tell me how to use them properly.

Rooted: Yes
