Part of digitizer dead? topic

Is it possible a part of the digitizer to be dead? I didn't know if the problem was because of the rom, and after installing a new rom I realized that the lower part of the screen is dead. Both capacitive buttons and a part of the lower screen isn't responting on my touch. Here is an image of were the screen is dead. If I change the digitizer will it be ok? Or it may be something else?not_working
