No signal on SMT-705 topic

Just want to ask if your smt 705 ever displays a no signal? The reason I'm asking is I noticed that on my device, the signal bars are always full even when there's no sim card.

Also if I'm on an area with no signal for a long time then went back to an area with a signal, my tab will show full bars of signal strength. However when you try to send a text, it will you that there is not connected to a mobile network.

Anybody having the same issues?
