Is KNOX 0x1 for anything other than warranty? topic

Hi, I still have a Note 3 on custom rom with Knox 0x0. I am thinking about switching to Alliance 5.0 rom but I see that this triggers the 0x1. Since these phones are well out of warranty is there any downsides other than warranty? I really like this phone and just wish I got more battery life out of it and a better camera.

On another note, the new S6 and S6 edge looks like an amazing phone.
