i337 in Australia...terrible voice call quality....anything I can do? topic

I purchased an i337 S4...before I realised that there were lots of S4 models. (I should have bought an i9505!!)
Back to back testing with the same sim and different phones, the call quality of this phone borders on unusable.
I have updated it to 4.4.2 using odin, and the problem is still the same. I'm guessing the locked radio/kernel are causing this?
