Help with a locked M8... Please read topic

SOCIALIZE IT ⇨

Hello all hoping there is some sort of a solution. My mother found an HTC one m8 in the snow the other day... I put it in rice for a few days and it powered up after charging it for a bit. Seems OK but it's pattern locked. Now I know I could factory reset it and all would be fine but I'd like to at least attempt to find out who it belongs to. I did some digging around and read about bypassing over adb. Unfortunately it seems as if USB debugging is not enabled and bootloader is locked of course. Any options here or is it doomed to be wiped?
