dell Venue 8 3840 cant root device topic

im trying to follow this guide

i managed to do all of A. Flash A195 image to the tablet.
THEN ... i did a firmware update through the tablet when i first turned it on [ 4.4.4 kitkat] because i couldn't get it to fastboot mode[ pressing vol- and power button]
when i get to the second part {" Flash boot.img and droidboot.img } fastboot does not even see the device.
i have the tablet in the mode fastboot{ hold down power button and vol - }

the dell instructions are not too clear .

all i want to do is root the device so that i can install a ram expander app { to increase the stock ram by using a sd card}
how can i root this device:rolleyes: i just want to root it
