HybridLauncher is a completely new type of Android-Launcher!
It's designed to be highly configurable and innovative.

HybridLauncher got away from the philosophy that you can have only Apps and Widgets on your Homescreen.
What you can do with HybridLauncher is having folders and files together with Apps and Widgets on your desktop!
You can browse in your filesystem as you can do with a Filemanager. Every folder can be used as a desktop and create unlimited personal Homescreens.
All desktops you create have infinite size in all four directions and you have the option to align your Items (Apps, Widgets, Files) with a grid, with magnetic lines, or freely position them as you like!
The appearance of every Item can be changed individually, you can adjust the size independently of the aspect and also rotate Items if you want to (also works with Widgets!)

One thing that might be good to know for all XDA-members:
When you for example install a new ROM on your device, you usually have to recreate your Homescreen (if you have not made backups with 3rd party tools).
HybridLauncher saves your desktop layout inside the folder you created it. If you now reinstall HybridLauncher, switch to a new ROM, or loose your apps' data on other ways,
your Desktop will NEVER EVER be lost as long as you don't delete the repective folder on your sdcard. (Also works when switching between Lite / Full version of HybridLauncher)

There is a Lite and a Full version of HybridLauncher. There are NO MAJOR DIFFERENCES.
The only difference: In the Lite-version there is a permanent notification shown in the statusbar, which says "HybridLauncher Lite".
It is only shown when HybridLauncher is in foreground and optionally you can disable it.

  (HybridLauncher does not require internet access, no data will ever be sent)

Permissions explanation:

• VIBRATE: Vibration is needen when you long-press Items.


• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: As HybridLauncher has similarites with a Filemanager, you can do things like cut / delete / copy / paste files. So write-access is necessary.


• WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE: This is generally the same as WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, but on newer devices (5.0+) the access to the external sdcard is blocked by default and needs this extra permission.


• READ_CONTACTS: You can have contacts directly on your homescreen (e.g. to open the SMS app quickly), so HybridLauncher has to access your contacts data. We will not send any data. (have a look at the source code)


• SET_WALLPAPER: If you want to change your background image, HybridLauncher must finally apply the new image. This is the permission which is needed for this.


• SET_WALLPAPER_HINTS: HybridLauncher has to set Wallpaper Hints to tell the System which size the Wallpaper should have, so background parallaxing is working correctly.
